A two-day 'Children Science Congress' will be held at the National Science and Technology Museum in the capital on August 29-30.
Society for the Popularisation of Science, Bangladesh (SPSB) will organise the largest ever children science congress for the second time this year.
"We are going to organise the event to promote science education at school level. The number of students in the science group is decreasing day by day. SPSB is organising different science-related event throughout the year. This congress is the central exposition of the science loving students from across the country's 64 districts," SPSB Vice-President and Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) General Secretary Munir Hasan said at a press conference in the city's Sonargaon Hotel on Tuesday.
Nearly 1,000 students have got registered online to participate in the event in combined and individual categories on three selected topics.
The selected students will expose 163 science projects, 111 science papers and 76 science posters at the event.
First Security Islami Bank Limited (FSIBL) Head of Marketing Azam Khan and Bangladesh Freedom Foundation (BFF) Executive Director Sazzadur Rahman were present among others at the press conference while SPSB General Secretary Farseem Mannan Mohammadi presented a key note paper.
SPSB will organise the event in collaboration with BFF, FSIBL, Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), Daffodil University, rokomari.com, Kishor Alo and Zero to Infinity.
