Results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations-2014 under 10 education boards were published Wednesday.
This year's pass rate is 78.33 percent which was 74.30 percent last year.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over a copy of the results
to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Gano Bhaban at around 10am.
This year's results also witnessed a rise of GPA-5 scorers, with a total
of 70,602 students achieving the highest grade. In 2013, the number of
GPA-5 scorers was 58,197 students.
Among the country's 10 education boards, Madrasah Board topped the list
in pass percentage, showing 94.08 percent success while 85.02 percent
students have passed in the Technical Education Board.
84.54percent students have passed in Dhaka Board while 78.55percent in
Rajshahi, 70.14percent in Comilla, 79.16percent in Sylhet, 71.75 in
Barisal and 74.14percent in Dinajpur, 70.06 percent in Chittagong and
60.58 percent in Jessore board.
1,147,374 students of 8,104 institutions took part in this year's HSC and equivalent exams which were held on April 3 to June 16.
Of the total examinees, 6,06,293 were male and 5,35,081 female.
All the examination centers and educational institutions have been asked to use their respective EIIN numbers to download the results through the webmail available at www.educationboard.gov.bd.
The results will made available at www.educationboardresults.gov.bd and at the websites of the education boards concerned following the unveiling of the results from 1:30pm.
Candidates can also get the result by sending SMS to 16222 typing 'HSC' followed by a space then first 3 letters of the respective education board another space then roll number followed by space again then '2014'.For example: hsc>dha>123456>2014 and send to 16222.
This year, five parameters – percentage of regular students passing the exam, percentage of passing students, percentage of students getting GPA-5, number of examinees and the average GPA of the institutions – will be used to determine top educational institutions in each board.Comilla Board
The pass rate of this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations-2014 in Comilla board is 70.14.
Two thousand six hundred students got GPA-5 of the board.

A total of 1 lakh 30 thousand two hundred 59 students took part in this year, HSC and equivalent examinations under the education board. Among them, 72, 426 students passed the exams.Sylhet Board
The pass rate and number of GPA-5 achievers in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations has increased in the Sylhet Board.
The pass rate this year is 79.16 percent, a .3 percent rise from the previous year's pass rate of 79.13 percent.
The number of highest score-holders (GPA-5) in the HSC examinations this year is 2070, which is 535 more than that of 2013.
In total 57,561 students of Arts, Science and Commerce groups appeared in the exams from the Sylhet Board, amongst whom 45,568 passed.

Jalalbad Cantonment Public School and College secured the first position of the board getting 414 GPA-5 while MC College and Sylhet Girls’ College stood 2nd and third position respectively with 208 and 156 GPA-5 under the education board.Rajshahi Board
The pass rate in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations of Rajshahi Education Board has increased but the number of GPA-5 achievers has reduced.
The pass rate of this year is 78.55, which is .86 rise from the previous year’s pass rate of 77.69.
Earlier in 2011, the pass rate of the board was 79.01, in 2012 the rate was 78.44.
Shamsul Kalam Azad, controller of the board, said 7, 641 students got GPA-5 this year.
He said Rajshahi College sat on the top of the merit chart while Rajshahi Cadet College, Pabna Cadet College and Joypur hat Cadet College secured second position jointy.
Bagura Azizul Haque Government College became third in the list.Barisal Board
The pass rate percent in this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations-2014 in Barisal Board is 71.75 percent with 2,225 students securing GPA-5.
A total of 55,000 students appeared in this year’s HSC and equivalent examinations under the Barisal Education Board.
This year, girls have taken a lead over boys in the HSC results as 72.80% girl students came out successful against 70.73% boys.
Examination controller M Shah Alamgir said the overall pass rate has risen in last 14 years.
This year, the pass rate in the HSC exams has bee increased by 8.84 percent than the previous year but the number of GPA-5 holdres marked a fall.
This year's pass rate is 70.06 percent which was 61.22 percent last year.

The pass rate of Jessore Education Board in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations-2014 is 60.58, which is 6.91 down from the previous year’s pass rate of 67. 49.
Professor Mohammad Abu Daud, controller of the board, announced the results on Wednesday around 1:00pm on Wednesday.
A total of 1, 14,815 students took part in the HSC exams this year under the education board. Among them, 59, 977 students were male and 54, 836 students were female.
A total of 4231 students achieves GPA-5.Dinajpur Board
This year's pass rate in the HSC examination is 74.14 percent. A total of 4,474 students got GPA-5.
A total of 98,287 students from eight districts sit for this year’s HSC and equivalent examinations under Dinajpur Education Board.
Rangpur Cantonment Public school secured the top place in the merit list in the division while Rangpur Cadet College secured 2nd position and Dinajpur Holyland College third position.
