Bangladesh Ambassador to Greece Golam Mohammad has been accused of  sexually  harassing a female guest - a Bangladesh born Greek resident, foreign office sources said on Sunday.
The complainant is an officer working for the International Organisation of Migration (IOM) in Athens, capital of Greece.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already constituted a three-member probe body headed by Secretary of Maritime Affairs Unit, Rear Admiral (Retd.) Md. Khurshed Alam last week, the sources said. The two other members are Director of Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Abdus Sabur Mondol and Director of Foreign Ministry's Administration Wing Kazi Anarkali.
The probe team which reached Athens on Saturday will stay there for five days and a decision about the accused ambassador would be taken after it files the investigation report, one source told trhe Daily Observer.
Earlier it was decided that probing such a viral allegation of sexual abuse was  not possible from Dhaka. So the Foreign Ministry chose to send the investigators to Athens for an on the spot inquiry as well as review of activities of the mission as a whole.  The (unidentified) Greek women officer has filed written complaint with the IOM mission in Greece, which was communicated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka recently. In the complaint the victim said that her husband lives outside Greece. The ambassador invited the women at his official residence when his wife was also not in Athens.
The ambassador allegedly made sexual advances on his female guest.
