Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated

The holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the country's Muslims, was celebrate across the country yesterday ()Tuesday.

The main Eid congregation in the capital was held at the National Eidgah, adjacent to the premises of the Supreme Court, at 8:30am. Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Maulana Mohammad Salah Uddin conducted the Eid jamaat.

Five Eid jamaats was held at the Baitul Muqarram National Mosque - at 7:00am, 8:00am, 9:00am, 10:00am and the last one at 11:00am.

Law enforcing agencies including the Police and Rapid Action Battalion was remain on guard to ensure security at Eid congregations.

The government chalked out elaborate programmes to celebrate the holy Eid-ul-Fitr with due respect and in a smooth manner.

National flags was hoisted at government, autonomous and non-government offices and all military establishments.

National flags and flags inscribed with "Eid Mubarak' were installed at important traffic islands and light posts in Dhaka city.
