MADINA, Saudi Arabia: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman has been passing their time in prayers at Masjid al-Nabawi (often called the Prophet's Mosque) at Madina. It was the second mosque built in history and is now one of the largest mosques in the world.
They performed Nafal prayers at 'Riad ul-Jannah (Gardens of Paradise)" after Tarabih prayers on Sunday night. Riad ul-Jannah is considered to be a part Jannah (Paradise) where Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM) used to offer prayers with his companions.
Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman performed Nafal prayers and offered munajat here seeking peace, progress and prosperity of the country and Muslim Ummah. They also performed Fajr prayers at Masjid al-Nabawi.
Earlier at 12.10 on Sunday night, Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman offered fateha at the grave of Prophet Muhammad (SM).
At that time, Tarique Rahman's wife Dr Jobaida Rahman, daughter Jaima Rahman, BJP Chairman Andalib Rahman Partha, BNP Chairperson's adviser Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, special assistant Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan, special assistant on Middle Eastern Affairs Enamul Huq Chowdhury, personal photographer Nuruddin Ahmed, former personal officer Raqibul Islam Bakul, BNP's IT Secretary Sharif Shah Kamal Taj, journalist Mahbubur Rahman, Saudi Arabia's western unit of BNP president Ahmad Ali Muqib were present.
Meanwhile, Tarique Rahman took part in an Iftar with Saudi BNP leaders and activists at Masjid al-Nabawi on Sunday evening. He also offered prayers in jamaat and took part in special munajat after Nafal prayers. They will leave for Makka on Tuesday morning.
Former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman have been visiting Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Saudi King. They are staying at Darul Iman Hotel near Masjid al-Nabawi.
They are accompanied by Tarique Rahman's wife and son, Khaleda Zia's brother's wife and sons, special assistant Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan, special assistant on Middle Eastern Affairs Enamul Huq Chowdhury, personal photographer Nuruddin Ahmed, former personal officer Raqibul Islam Bakul and BNP's IT Secretary Sharif Shah Kamal Taj.
