Interpol has issued a red warrant against Noor Hossain, absconding prime accused in Narayanganj seven murder case.
The France-based organisation posted Noor Hossain's details on
their 'wanted persons' page.
Earlier on May 22, Narayanganj police administration wrote to the Police Headquarters in Dhaka. Later, the Police Headquarters sent a letter to the Interpol. RAB has confirmed that Noor Hossain is now hiding in India.
On the Warrant Page, Noor Hossain's date of birth has been mentioned as 10th January 1960. He was born in Narayanganj. His height is 1.61 meters and weight 62 kgs. His hair's complexion is coloured. Allegations of murder, abduction, forced disappearance and maintaining close ties with criminal gangs have been brought against him.
With this, the Interpol issued red alert against Noor Hossain for the second time. Earlier, the Interpol issued red warrant against Noor Hossain on April 12, 2007 when he was absconding. At that time, Interpol raised allegations of terrorism, possessing explosives and issuing death threats against people on its website at that time.
But, in the middle of 2009, LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam sent a letter to the Prime Minister's Establishment Advisor HT Imam terming Noor Hossain as a "dedicated Awami League leader." Following it, HT Imam lobbied with the Interpol and Interpol withdrew their red warrant against Noor Hossain in March 2011.
