Youth beaten dead by BSF

A Bangladeshi young man was allegedly beaten to death by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at  Patgram upazila border point in  Lalmonirhat early yesterday morning, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Aminul Islam, 32, son of Abdul Latif of Ufarmara Telipara village in the upazila.
Officials of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), quoting locals, said members of 104 BSF battalion from Himkumari camp chased off Aminul and beat him severely near sub-pillar No. 5 of the main pillar No. 104 when he was returning with cattle from the Indian side, leaving him dead on the spot around 4:30am.
After the killing, the BSF members took away the body into their territory.
Lieutenant Colonel Shafiul Alam Khan, commanding officer of Lalmonirhat -15 BGB battalion, confirmed the incident and said they sent a letter to BSF protesting the incident and also asking for return of the body.
