Tony Sanneh a pro American soccer player and a trainer of the workshop programme “SportsUnited” commented that Bangladeshi players need to believe in themselves and that they can do well. He mentioned that in a programme at BFF house yesterday.
U.S. Embassy, Dhaka in partnership with Bangladesh Football Federation is conducting the workshop from fourth to seventh February in Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan (BKSP) and local schools for the young footballers of the country. American soccer player Linda Hamilton and Tony Sanneh are the trainer of the programme and they would share their experience and skill with new players there.
Tony believes that, Sports is the true way or language to communicate through the world. This American star player said, “I hadn’t played with any Bangladeshi players in my life. But, I believe that someday they will develop their condition and hope that my son will be able to play soccer with Bangladesh team in an international site”.
Linda Hamilton said, “I think it’s a great opportunity to payback the new generation what I got. I love Football as it’s the only sport in the world that has no separate laws and regulations in it for men and women”
Ms Viraj M. LeBailly the Public Affairs Officer of the U.S. Embassy, in Dhaka said, “This training will be helpful not only to make good player but also to make good professionals”
LeBailly commented that, though that was a short time programme they included lots of thing in it and that way the new players would be able to gain something effective for their career.
The training will run under the cultural exchange programme of U.S. Embassy, Dhaka. Four Bangladeshi officials will assist the foreigners to train up two individual groups of boys and girls. Each group will be formed including 25 people and the age range is 13-16 for boys and 17-21 for girls.
Linda is an American retired soccer defender and former member of the United States women's national soccer team and Tony Sanneh was a famous pro American soccer player. Both of them are experienced of Playing in world Cup.
