BJMC grips Russel in BPL

Team BJMC clasped Sheikh Russel to a 1-1 draw in BPL at the Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday. Sk. Russel needed a late goal from their substitute forward Robin to salvage the draw.
Seven points achiever BJMC played one of their best matches in BPL against Sk. Russel, the 11 point achiever and managed the leading goal in the second half of the match.
BJMC’s forward Aminur Rahman Sajib took an attempt utilising a through pass of Ismael Bangoura from the danger zone of Russell in 10th minute when Biplob Vattacherjee, the conscious goalkeeper of Russell stopped the shot dexterously. After five minute of his unsuccessful attempt BJMC’s energetic forward Bangoura tried for the second time to hit the net and the ball passed over the cross bar. In 39th minute, Russell’s Jamaican mid-fielder Ricardo Cousins took a forceful shot from the right side of the danger line and hit the outside of the net. At the last moment before the break, Shakil Ahmed tried to score the leading goal controlling a pass of Moroccan forward Youness Roux inside the D-box and BJMC’s defender Shahanur Rahman Rony secured the bar with a back pass.
Just after three minutes of second half BJMC’s Nigerian mid-fielder Samson Iliasu hit Russel’s net swiftly snatching the ball from Russel’s defender Reza and put Team BJMC ahead. Russel’s Youness made an effort to hit the net with a header utilising long cross from their Uruguayan mid-fielder Francisco Usucar and Arifuzzaman Himel, the goalkeeper of Team BJMC stopped the ball.
In 71st minute, Russel’s substitute forward Mohammad Robin who was fielded about ten minute ago netted the equalising goal when Jamaican midfielder Ricardo Cousins passed the ball to him at the top of the box and Robin broke into the defence of their opponents to hit from a close range. Though, BJMC’s Samson Iliasu himself took an attempt to net the winning goal by a right footed volley, the ball passed by the left side bar. At the eleventh hour, Russel’s goalkeeper Biplob saved the post when BJMC’s Bangoura attempt with a header controlling a pass of their defender Shakil.
After yesterday’s match, Russell achieved 11 points from seven matches while BJMC had seven points from six matches.
