Twenty MPs have been made ministers for the first time in the 49-member new cabinet of the 10th parliament of the country that took oath yesterday, report agencies.
Among the new faces, 8 have been chosen as cabinet ministers, 10 as state and 2 other as deputy ministers.
Among the new faces ministers, Anisul Haque got the law ministry, Sayed Mohsin Ali social welfare, Prof Motiur Rahman religious affairs, Asaduzzaman Noor culture, Shamsur Rahman Sharif land, Imaj Uddin Paramanik Jute and Textile, Md Saiyedul Haque fisheries and livestock, and AKM Mozammel Haque liberation war affairs.
The new state ministers are: Md Shahriar Alam(foreign), Mirza Azam (textile and jute), Zunayed Ahmed Palak (ICT), Ismat Ara Sadek (primary and mass education), Nasrul Hamid (power and energy), Zahid Malek (health and family planning), Narayan Chandra, Biren Shikder (youth and sports), Asaduzzaman Khan (home ministry) and Saifuzzaman Chowdhury (land).
The new deputy ministers are: Abdullah Al Islam Jekob (water resources) and Arif Kahn Joy (youth and sports).
The ministers took the oath at a ceremony at Bangabhaban. President Abdul Hamid administered the oath.
