Police have been granted two days remand to grill Khandker Mahbub Hossain and Fazlul Haq Milon but a remand plea to question Selima Rahman in a bomb attack case has been rejected by court, reports bdnews24.com.
The police sought seven days to grill them in connection with the polling eve bomb attack on the office of deputy commissioner in Dhaka City's Ramna one.
The three leaders, detained on Tuesday, were taken to the court from the office of the Detective Branch at Minto road at 3:15pm  yesterday.
A few hundreds of pro-BNP lawyers were seen demonstrating during this time.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Aminul Haq heard the petition filed by Ramna Police Station's sub-inspector Thakurdas Malo.
Veteran lawyer Rafique-ul-Haq along with other BNP lawyers took part in the hearing of the case.
Barrister Rafique said, "Khandker Mahbub Hossain has spoken about scoring goal in the voter-less election. The whole world saw it."
According to the petition, these three leaders incited acts of sabotage in their speech at various press conferences and discussions.
Mahbub was picked up when he emerged from an event at National Press Club and Selima was nabbed in front of her house after she announced the extension of 18-Party alliance's shutdown until 6pm Wednesday.
Detectives arrested BNP Organising Secretary Fazlul Haq Milon from BNP leader Zainul Abdin Farroque's business office at Baridhara on Tuesday noon.
BNP MP Nazimuddin Ahmed was arrested with him but released during the night.
Selima Rahman, Khandker Mahbub and Milon are being held as accused in a case filed over the explosion at the Police Commissioner's office.
BNP had called for 'open resistance' to the Jan 5 national elections, which they boycotted.
Bombs were hurled at the Police Commissioner's office the day before polling and during the Opposition's strike and blockade enforced against the election.
Many top leaders of the BNP are in prison as 18-Party alliance continues its agitation.
They stand accused of instigating bombings and arson on vehicles.
Among them are Standing Committee members Moudud Ahmed, MK Anwar, Rafiqul Islam Miah, ASM Hannan Shah, Vice-Chairman Sadeque Hossain Khoka, Hafizuddin Ahmed, Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Mahbubuddin Khokon.
The list of those under arrest includes BNP Organising Secretary Golam Akbar Khandaker, Adviser to the party chief Meer Mohammad Nasiruddin, Abdul Awal Mintoo, former MP Sarder Sakhawat Hossain Bakul, current MP Shammi Akhter and Special Assistant to the BNP chairperson Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas.
