5 killed in Dhaka post-poll clash

Five persons  died yesterday in a clash between supporters of victorious and defeated candidates of Dhaka-1 at Dohar Upazila's Bilashpur, reports bdnews24.com.
According to locals and police, men of Bilashpur Union Parishad (UP) chairman Md Alauddin and Dohar unit Swechhasebok League leader Bashar Chakdar clashed with sharp weapons around 9am at Hazarbigha village.
Dhaka's assistant superintendent of police Shahidul Islam said several were hacked at and beaten up during the clash and three were killed on the spot. They are Morshed, 50, his son Masud, 30 and Makbul, 36, nephew of UP chairman Alauddin.
Another two identified as Aslam, 25, and Rezaul, 26, died during treatment in Dhaka's Mitford hospital from Dohar health complex, Dhaka's additional superintendent of police (ASP) Shyamol Kumar Mukherjee said.
