Man drowns in M’singh pond

A man died after drowning in a river at Gouripur upazila in Mymensingh district on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Md Rasel Mia, son of Abul Hashem of Atpara village in Ochintopur union under the upazila. He was an easybike driver by profession.

According to locals, Rasel went to the Balua River for a bath on Sunday at 1 PM and drowned in the river.

Locals started searching for him.

After searching for several hours, locals rescued him unconscious in the river and took him to Gouripur Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Gouripur Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Didarul Islam confirmed the incident.
