Youth drowns in Jamalpur swimming pool

A youth died after drowning in a swimming pool at Sarishabari upazila in Jamalpur district on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Imtiaz Akul, 22, son of Samshul Sheikh of Satpoa village under the upazila.

According to locals, Imtiaz drowned while he was swimming in Swapnonil Safari Park’s pool.

After sometimes, his companions dived into the water and found his body.

Later, they rescued Imtiaz and sent him to Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Sarishabari Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Rashedul Hasan confirmed the incident.
