Man drowns in Kurigram waterbody

A man drowned in a canal at Ulipur upazila in Kurigram district on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Rezaul Islam, 40, son of Abdul Hakim of Chadni Bozra village under Bozra union in the upazila.

According to locals, Rezaul went to a nearby canal adjacent to their area for catching fish at night but he didn’t come back home at night.

Later, locals found his dead body by roadside and informed his family.

His family rescued the body after being informed by the locals.

Ulipur Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Zillur Rahman confirmed the incident and said that the body has been handed over to family after an unidentified death case was filed.
