Youth’s body recovered from Netrokona canal

Police found an young man’s floating body at a canal of Purbadhala upazila in Netrokona districrt on Thursday.

The body was found at Jamdhala Deotukun Gudara Ghat of Jamdhala area under Dhalamulgaon union in the upazila.

The deceased is estimated to be around 25 years old and his identity is yet to discover, said police officials.

According to police, locals spotted the body at the area and then informed police. Upon receiving the news, a police team arrived at the scene and recovered the body. 

Preliminary police investigations indicate no signs of injury on the body. Locals suspect he may have been mentally unwell.

Confirming the incident, Purbadhala Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Nurul Alam said that the body is currently at the police station. 

Efforts are underway to identify the deceased, the OC added.
