Train catches fire in Gazipur, communication halted

A compartment of a Dhaka-Mohonganj Mahua commuter train suddenly caught fire at Satkhamair Station in Gazipur's Sreepur on Thursday morning.

Following the blaze eruption, the train movement on the Dhaka-Mymensingh route was halted.

Gazipur Fire Service's deputy assistant director Mohammad Mamun said around 11:15AM, a fire broke out in a compartment of Mahua commuter train shortly after departure from Sreepur.

All trains on the route temporarily suspended for security purpose.
