Missing boy's body found after 39 hours in Rajbari

The body of a madrasa student was recovered on Friday from the Padma river in Rajbari's Goalanda after about 39 hours of his missing.

The dead was Zubair Sheikh, 12, son of Lablu Sheikh of Ruppur village under Mulghar Union of Rajbari sadar upazila. He was a student of Anjuman-e-Kaderiya Dakhil Madrasa at Daulatdia.

Local people found the body at Daulatdia Launchghat area around 7 am and rescued it. Later, the body was taken to his madrasa premises.

Earlier, on October 30, around 4:30 pm, Zubair went missing after going down to bathe in the Padma River in Daulatdia Launchghat area.

Goaland Ghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rakibul Islam said that since the boy went missing, fire service, diving team, navy and police were working to rescue him. Later, locals found the boy's body floating in Launchghat area this morning and rescued him.
