Unidentified youth's body recovered from Meghna

Police recovered the half-melted body of a youth from the Meghna river at Hatiya upazila in Noakhali district on Saturday morning.

The body was found near Dorbesh Bazar under Sanondi union in the upazila.

The deceased, approximately 32 years old, remains unidentified at this time.

It was learnt that locals spotted the body in the morning and informed the police.

Getting information, police recovered the body and sent it to Noakhali General Hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Joynal Abedin, inspector (investigation) of Hatiya Police Station.

It is suspected that the body may have been carried by the tide.
