DU Pro-VC, 3 others go to Finland to purchase lifts

A four-member delegation led by Dhaka University's (DU) Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr Sitesh Chandra Bashar to buy lift for different under-construction buildings at the DU.
The delegation left Dhaka for Finland early Saturday (May 4) morning, sources at the DU administration told the Daily Observer Online.

Other members of the delegation are Professor Dr Hafiz Muhammad Hasan Babu, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of the DU, Dr ABM Towfique Hasan, professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), and Jabed Alam Mridha, director of the Office of Planning and Development.

Sources at the administrative office of the DU said the delegation has left for Finland at the expenses of the contractor to visit the industry as the vice-chancellor nominated members of the 2nd Pre-Shipment Inspection Team to buy elevators. The DU administration has also granted them leave of absence for a specific period to this end.

It may be mentioned that Rangpur Metal Industries Limited (RMIL) has been given the work order to supply the lifts. The delegation left for Finland to make an order for purchasing 17 lifts for different under-construction buildings at the DU after examining those.
