Schoolboy 'commits suicide' for being barred from smoking
A college student allegedly committed suicide at Shibganj upazila in Bogura district on Tuesday for being forbidden from smoking.
Deceased Saheduzzaman Siam, 16, was son of Abdul Matin. He was a student of class X at a local kindergarten school.
Locals said Siam committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in his bedroom being aggrieved with his parents for forbidding him from consuming tobacco.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Abdur Rauf, officer-in-charge of Shibganj Police Station.
An unnatural death case was filed with the police station in this regard, he added.
