DU Social Science Faculty dean Prof Zia Rahman passes away

Professor Zia Rahman, dean of Social Science Faculty of Dhaka University (DU), passed away at a hospital in Dhaka early Saturday. He was 60.

He breathed his last at about 3:45am at LabAid Hospital due to brain hemorrhage while undergoing treatment there.

DU Proctor Prof Maksudur Rahman confirmed this to media.

Mentionable, Prof Zia was the founding chairman of the university’s Criminology department.

He was also the provost of Ziaur Rahman Hall.
