PM to award 40 BCG men marking 29th anniv today

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate at least six physical infrastructures and award medals to 40 officers, sailors and civilians of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) for their bravery, attending a grand ceremony as chief guest to celebrate the BCGs 29th founding anniversary today.

The programme will be held in the BCG Headquarters at Agargaon in the city, said a press release.

The theme of this years founding anniversary has been set as Smart Bangladesh, Smart Coast Guard.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan will attend the function as special guest.

Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate newly constructed six physical infrastructures at the BCG stations at Kutubdia, Maheshkhali, Mirsarai, Sandwip, Nidraskina and Shahpari Outpost.

Besides, the premier will confer 10 Bangladesh Coast Guard Medals, 10 Bangladesh Coast Guard (Service) Medals, 10 President Coast Guard Medals and 10 President Coast Guard (Service) Medals to at least 40 BCG officers, sailors and civilians for their bravery.

PMs Security Adviser Maj Gen (retd) Tariq Ahmed Siddique, Senior Secretary of Public Security Department of the Home Ministry Md Mostafizur Rahman and BCG Director General Rear Admiral  Mir Ershad Ali will be present in the event, among others.
