Man drowns while fishing in Kaptai lake

The deceased was identified as Md Bappy, 32, son of late Shaokat Akbar, a resident of Panchlais area under Chawkbazar upazila.

According to locals, Bappy slipped into the lake while fishing sitting on the bank of the water-body and drowned immediately.

Being informed, a diving team from Bangladesh Navy Kaptai unit rushed there and recovered the body after four hours of attempt, said Shahinur Rahman, in-charge of Kaptai Police outpost.

Legal action would be taken in this regard, added the police official.
