Shaifur Rahman joins CSE as Managing Director

Shaifur Rahman Mazumdar FCA, FCMA joined Chittagong Stock Exchange PLC (CSE) as Managing Director on January 1, 2024.

Before joining CSE he was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC (DSE). He also performed responsibility as the Managing Director (Acting) of DSE, says a press release.

Previously he was involved as the Managing Director of CSE for another term 2016-2019. As a seasoned professional, he has been engaged in the private sector in different capacities for the last twenty-seven years.
He has a wide range of experience in capital market, financial management, export and production management, HR management, management consultancy etc. He served in private sector corporate entities in different positions e.g. Company secretary, Controller of Finance, Finance Director, Executive Director, CEO, and Managing Director with utmost sincerity, honesty and reputation.

SR Mazumdar is a renowned Chartered Accountant and a Cost and Management Accountant. He is a Fellow Member of both apex accounting bodies of Bangladesh ICAB and ICMAB. He is a B.Com.(Hons), M.Com. (Accounting) from the University of Chittagong.

During his Chartered Accountancy course, Shaifur Rahman Mazumdar worked with KPMG Rahman Rahman Huq, one of the leading audit and consultancy firms in Bangladesh.

Apart from business and industrial organizations, he has also a track record of playing leadership roles in professional and trade bodies. He is a former Vice President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). He served ICAB as a council Member during the tenure of 2016-18.

He is a former chairman of the Chittagong Regional Committee of ICAB,  former chairman of the Chittagong Branch Council ICMAB as well as former director of the Bangladesh Frozen Foods Exporters Association (BFFEA).
