A Bangladeshi national was shot dead by a gang of robbers in South Africa's Johannesburg city on Thursday.
He died around 6:00 am Bangladesh time at Johannesburg Central Hospital while undergoing treatment.
The victim was identified as Khorshed Alam Didar, son of Latu Hazi, a resident of Chhagalnaiya upazila in Feni district. He was a businessman.
Local UP chairman Rafiqul Islam Haider Chowdhury said Khorshed sustained injury by gun shots from a gang of robbers a few days ago. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Johannesburg Central Hospital.
Preparation is underway to bring his body to the country, he added.
