Missing child found dead in Gazipur pond

Police recovered the body of a missing child from a pond at Kaliganj upazila in Gazipur district on Thursday morning.

The dead was Mahim, 11, son of Soaif Hossain, a resident of Baluabhita village under Jamalpur union.

Police said on Wednesday afternoon, the child went missing from home while playing. Later, a neighbour child spotted Mahim was floating in a pond next to their house.

On information, police went to the spot and recovered the body from the pond.

Kaliganj Police Station officer-in-charge Faizur Rahman said legal action is under process in this regard.
