A bus that was going for a study tour in Kushtia caught fire in Shibaloy upazila of Manikganj on Monday.
However, no casualty was reported.
Aminur Rahman Anjan, head of the accounting department of Mohadevpur Government Degree College, said the students were going to Rabindranath Tagore's Kuthibari, Lalon Shah Bridge and some other tourist spots in Kushtia as part of their study tour.
Sources said the bus was parked in front of a super market in the area around 7:30am. Some students and two men were fixing the soundbox system inside the bus.All of sudden, the back of the bus where a generator was kept caught fire. The students were able to get down from the bus.
Md Shariful Islam, deputy assistant director of Manikganj District Fire Service and Civil Defence, said on information, firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the flames within half an hour.
The cause of the fire could not be ascertained immediately.
