Passenger bus catches fire on Pragati Sarani

Fire broke out in a Turag Paribahan passenger minibus at Norda area on Pragati Sarani in the capital on Friday afternoon.

Receiving information, Fire Service personnel went to the spot and doused the fire.
The minibus was completely gutted in the fire. However, no casualties were reported.

The minibus caught fire suddenly when it was going to Tongi at about 6:30pm on Friday (June 10). However, it could not be known how the fire was originated.

A witness told the Daily Observer Online that the passengers got down from the running minibus hurriedly when it caught fire. Later, Fire Service personnel went to the spot and doused the fire. However, most parts of the minibus was burnt away by that time.

It is believed that the fire broke out inside the bus due to technical faults.
