Couple found dead in Netrakona

A couple was found dead at their home in Satpai area of Netrakona district town on Friday afternoon.

The dead were identified as Mihir kanti Biswas,70, a teacher of Krishna Govinda High School, and his wife Tulika Chandra, a field worker of the Social Welfare Department.   

Razib Pandit, a tenant of the house on Babul Swarani, said Mihir's house was locked since Wednesday.

He called the neighbours this morning after getting pungent smell from their house.

Being informed, police, later, broke open the door and recovered the body of Tulika from the kitchen and of Mihir from the drawing room at about 1pm.

Neighbours informed the couple's son live in Dhaka while their daughter in Sylhet.

Joydev Chowdhury, superintendent of Netrakona Police, said the couple might have been killed sometime on Wednesday night.
