An evening of folk songs

Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre is going to organise an evening of folk songs by Swapan Dutta Baul from India and modern songs by Dipankar Mondal of Bangladesh at Kabi Sufia Kamal Auditorium, Bangladesh National Museum, Shahbagh in the city. The musical soiree will be held on October 14.
 Swapan Dutta is a registered and approved Baul folk singer of Government of West Bengal, India. He performs regularly in All India Radio and Doordarshan. The Government of West Bengal also appoints him from time to time to educate the public about Government program through Baul songs.
He has received commendations and certificates for his versatile talent from President of India, Prime Minister of India Governor and Chief Minister of West Bengal and many more.
Born in a Musical family Dipankar Mondal was inspired in Music from his singer parents Dwijendra Lal Mondal and Ms Mila Mondal. He is an enlisted artist of Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar. He is also a lyricist and has composed many of his own songs.
He has performed in different parts of India like Rajasthan, Punjab and West Bengal where he has performed in the RK Mission Institute of Culture, Ancestral house of Swami Vivekananda etc. He has also performed in almost all districts of Bangladesh.
