50 organizations to get Joy Bangla Youth Award this year
The second Joy Bangla Youth Award-2017 will be given to the 50 youth led new organizations on three categories including sports, culture and community development.
Prime Minister ICT Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy, also the son of Sheikh Hasina, will hand over the award through a gala function at Sheikh Hasina National Youth centre at Gazipur. The award will be given to the winners through a two-day programme on October 20-21.
The award is launched with a vision to identify, recognise, showcase, connect and support the champions of change through a comprehensive search, Center for Research and Information (CRI) press released said.
About 50 individuals and organisations are chosen to give award from over 1,300 applications for their outstanding contributions to three sectors.
The first edition of Joy Bangla youth Award, an initiative of Young Bangla, held in 2015 and 30 individuals and organisations were awarded from over 1,500.
Over the course of last two years, a number of schemes were rolled out for the award winners.
Under an agreement between Young Bangla and Microsoft International's Bangladesh chapter, a total of 10 JBYA 2015 winners were provided computer Labs in their locality that is helping them spread the light of ICT within their communities.
