Munshiganj textile mill fire kills 6

Six workers were killed in a fire that broke out at a textile mill at Mukterpur area in Sadar upazila of Munshiganj on Wednesday morning.

The identities of the deceased  could not be known yet.

Mukterpur river police outpost in-charge Zainal Abedin said, the fire broke out at 'Ideal Textile Mills' around 10am and soon engulfed the whole building.

Being informed, four fire units from Munshiganj and Narayanganj rushed to the spot and are trying to bring the flames under control.

Later, firefighters recovered six bodies from different floors of the mill.

The fire might have originated during welding work, said the OC.
 
However, the extent of loss could not be ascertained yet.
