Bangladeshi singers to perform at South Asian music fest

A four-day classical music festival featuring well-known artistes from both Bangladesh and India will be held from September 21 to September 24 in Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, according to a press release.  Blues Communications is organising the festival titled 'South Asian Music Festival: Timeless Classical Echoes.'
The festival will feature Bangladeshi Tagore singers Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya, Shama Rahman along with Indian classical musician Homayoun Sakhi, classical singer Kaushiki Chakraborty and instrumentalist Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma on the opening day.
Noted Bangladeshi classical singer Luva Nahid Choudhury, Indian maestros Shubhendra and Saskia Rao, singer Sawani Shende and Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia will perform at the event on the second day. Bangladeshi Tagore artiste Laisa Ahmed Lisa will perform at the programme along with Indian artistes Niladri Kumar (sitar), Deepak Pandit (violin) and Pt. Birju Maharaj (kathak dance) on the third day.
The concluding day's programme will feature performances by local Tagore singer Rezwana Choudhury Bannya and Indian classical musician Ustad Shujaat Khan (sitar), singer Vidushi Bombay Jayashri and Dr. L Subramaniam.
