People become saving oriented: Muhith

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith on Thursday expressed his belief that the country people's saving-oriented intention has brought a 'social change'.
"An intention to save money has grown among the people during 1986 -2016 period. It is a social change," he said while talking to journalists after inaugurating the real time banking programme of Palli Sanchay Bank at his secretariat office.
Mentioning that all country people could not be included Ektee Bari Ektee Khamar Project (One House One Farm Project), the minister expressed hope that all would come under the project by 2021. "The project won’t be needed in future. Rather, the bank will include all under its programme."
Citing that there is no presence of micro credit in the country, Muhith said,"People are now doing agri-business with group loan."
Palli Sanchay Bank Chairman Mihir Kanti Das, senior officials of the bank, Finance Ministry's Senior Secretary Hedayetullah Mamun, Senior Secretary of Economic Relation Division Eunusur Rahman, among others, were present at the program.
