Man held with 16kg gold

Police arrested a man and seized 140 gold bars weighing 16.24 kilogrammes from his possession in Paltan area of Dhaka  on Saturday  evening.
Shiblee Noman, Additional Deputy Csommissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Motijheel zone), said the man,  carrying the gold in a black bag was moving around Baitul Mukarram Market around 6:00pm,. Police are yet to disclose his identity.  On suspicion, locals intercepted him and found the gold bars, the police official said. On information, law enforcers from Paltan Police Station went there and handed him over to the Customs officials, the ADC added.  The market price of the gold is approximately Tk 8 crore, police said.
