AL hangs democracy whenever comes to power : Rizvi
The BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed on Saturday alleged that Awami League hangs democracy whenever it assumes state power.
"Country's independence and sovereignty becomes weaker whenever Awami League comes to power. Because the party was born in the laboratory of a foreign country's intelligence agency," he said.
Rizvi came up with the allegation at a doa mahfil held at BNP's Naya Paltan office on Saturday afternoon. The programme was oragnised to mark the 48th birth anniversary of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's younger son Arafat Rahman Koko, who died in 2015 in Malaysia.
He blamed the government for snatching away people's freedom of expression and freedom of press that created an environment of political pollution.
Rizvi also alleged that Zia-family fell victim to the torture soon after taking power by 'Fakhruddin-Mainuddin's illegal government.'
