2 killed in Habiganj clash

Habiganj: Two people were killed and 50 others injured during a clash between two groups of villagers in Bahubal upazila on Saturday.

The dead were identified as Abdul Karim and Md Matin Miah.

Police said, two groups of residents of Mugkandi village first clashed on Friday afternoon centering formation of a committee of a local mosque.

As a sequel, a fresh clash ensued between the two groups early hours today.

Both the groups used lethal weapons during the clash, leaving two dead on the spot.

Additional police have deployed in the area to avert further violence.
