BCL infighting kills one in Sylhet

An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was shot dead during a factional clash of the student wing of ruling Awami League at Beanibazar Government College in Sylhet on Monday afternoon.

Son of Khalilur Rahman, a resident of Khasa Panditpara in the upazila, the dead was identified as Khaled Ahmed Litu,23. He was a follower of BCL's former entertainment secretary Pavel.

Sugyan Chakma, additional superintendent of Sylhet Poice, confirmed media that the killing took place during a factional clash of BCL. "The incident is being investigated," he said.

Masum Ahmed, the duty doctor of Beanibazar Upazila Health Complex, said Litu received bullet on his head. He died due to exxessive bleeding.

Campus sources said the clash took place between the supporters of Pavel group and Pallab group at about 1pm that also left six to seven persons injured.
