Parents of Muktamoni, who has been suffering from a rare decease for last four years, have started dreaming a normal and healthy life of their daughter as doctors assured them to provide her with proper treatment.

Now, their only desire is to that their beloved daughter will go to school and play with her twin sister Heeramoni like the other girls of her age.

The 12-year-old girl is now undergoing treatment at the Burn Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital with a hope that she can be cured.

Meanwhile, an eight-member medical board, led by Dr Samanta Lal Sen, chief coordinator of National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery of the DMCH, has been formed to treat the girl.

Daughter of grocer Ibrahim Hossain, a resident  of Kamarbaisa village in Sadar upazila, Mukta was affected by the disease at the age of three. Apart from severe pain, insects are also born in her affected right hand.

Talking to journalists, her parents said Mukta always feels unbearable pain.

“ By the grace of almighty Allah  we brought her to the DMCH. Now, doctors' efforts is keeping our hope alive," said Ibrahim.

A visibly happy Mukta said, " Now I feel better. I couldn’t sleep at night for years due to unbearable pain in my hand. I want to be cured quickly and  go to school with my twin sister Heeramoni."

Regarding the latest physical condition of Mukta, her father said she is better now as pain as well as insets in the affected hand have gone.

Dr Samanta Lal Sen said, he and burn unit director professor Abul Kalam Azad are initially monitoring physical condition of Mukta.
