Int'l building construction expo begins in Dhaka

A three day-long international Building Construction Technology (BCT) Exposition 2017 kicked off at International Convention City Bashundhara, in the capital on Thursday.
The exposition showcased wood materials, interior exterior design, lighting and power sourcing and other building construction related equipment and expertise.
More than 90 local and international companies related to building construction technology and power sourcing from more than five countries are participating in the expo that will conclude on Saturday. Kites International Trade and Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd. organised the expo with the sponsorship of Sharif Metal and Steelpac.
Industries Ministry Additional Secretary Shusen Chandra Das inaugurated the expo as the chief guest.

Energypac Power Generation Ltd. Managing Director Humayun Rashid, Sharif Metal Industries Managing Director Mohammad Omar Faruk, BKMEA Second Vice President Md. Monsoor Ahmed, Bonn University Reseacher Md. Monirul Hasan, also spoke at the inaugural session.
 "Demands of construction and power-related products and technologies in Bangladesh are increasing day by day as the country is developing its infrastructures speedily," said Shusen Chandra Das in his speech.
This expo will play an important role for the customers to choose modern technologies and products, he added.
Saidur Rahman said: "Building construction technology, wood materials, interior exterior, lighting and power sourcing expo 2017 will be a meeting point of domestic and international business community to explore the growing business potentials in building and construction sector and Power and Energy sector in Bangladesh."
The BCT exposition will provide opportunities to interact with stake holders in the building construction industry and will create opportunity for growth of better business of products and technology suppliers in construction sector, he further said.
At the PowerX event, lighting, electronic products, Generator, Solar and solar Products, power supply and distribution, cable and related companies have started displaying their technology, know-how and products and services at the expo..
The expo is a platform for all the stakeholders involved in the area of alternative power generation, transmission and distribution to come under one platform to explore the possibilities of providing alternate power generation seclusion.
Cement, Paints, Cables, Doors & windows, Generator, Solar & Solar Products, Interior & Exterior products, Glass & Glazing, Fire Safety & Security, Elevators & Escalators, Construction Machinery, Power & Energy, Steel Rods, PEB and many more latest products are being displayed at the event.
