When I look back and go through my memory lane I see my past and the best part of it was my school days. Those were the days my friends! School days can never be forgotten. Carefree, no worries, nothing -- only friends, teachers, studies and sweet -- bitter scolding of parents!
Now, reality is quite different with job and hardships of life at times thorny, at times good. To introduce one in the hardships of job life one should be well groomed up and disciplined. And that could only be given by your school, of course, after your family. Kids start their education from family.
Therefore, school days are very much important to a child's nurturing besides gathering sweet memories. What I am today, only because of my parents' counselling and teachings, afterwards, learning from my school.
Children can bring positive change in the society if they are properly taught and guided by the true leaders of a nation. And who are these leaders? Children are confused and sometimes misguided by derailed people who don't even know what they are up to -- how can they lead our children to a certain goal? That's why an incident like 'Holey-Artisan Bakery in Dhaka' can took place -- a boy who can sing, can easily took a machine gun in his hand to kill innocent people.
Recently there was a article title with "Respected Principals Please Take Note". This was addressing an important question that, "What would you do if you were a principal of your school?"
Nowadays, most of the schools are established in a residential area and it is really difficult to provide huge field. To solve this problem decentralisation and proper school buildings are very much essential. Recently a move has been made by Rajuk to remove all the schools formed in residential area. But where will these evicted schools could be relocated we have no idea. Government can help us in this matter.
Another demand was girls should be allowed to play with the boys. Yes, of course no discrimination among boys and girls should be entertained during games classes. Girls must get equal opportunity to play with the boys.
At the same time, only good grades cannot make a good human being. Moral values ethics, norms and disciplines -- these qualities are also the vital parts of a human being. But these virtues can be infused into the students from their family and at the stage of their schooling, teachers just nourish them and make them flourish in their characteristics, but for this, parents' support is very    much required.
However, in our days the child psychology was not that much focused. Children were scolded and beaten up by our parents and teachers sometime and we had to listen to them very obediently. Our parents did not interfere in this matter at all but now-a-days we cannot abuse any child both verbally or physically. Even if we do that a twelve years old child will go to commit suicide without knowing what suicide is! Sometimes it really is very tough to understand what is going on in our children's mind. Therefore, we must have mutual respect and sharing platform between teachers and students.
At the same time, we should learn how to respect privacy of every individual and strictly maintain confidentiality in all aspects. But we do not respect or expect any student taking the advantage of this flexibility. Student's privacy does not mean freedom of doing whatever you would like to do or doing any unsocial activities which can hamper their reputation.
To build up a strong, smart and versatile character a child needs to put their attention to different fields besides class room based lessons. Debating, public speaking, cultural programmes, study tours, sports, community services and other extracurricular activities are there one can explore.
If school arranges any programmes even if the children want to participate, due to parents' objection children cannot do that. The only thing parents want their children to get A+ in every subjects, for that, they have no problem in admitting them in more than one coaching for each subject.
Parents would rather take their children for coaching instead of allowing them to join the sports club. So, here we need strong support from parents as well.  Parents are requested to allow their children to participate in different extracurricular activities so that the students can develop their skills in different dimension.
There are some more points to draw the attention of the parents. Like a student's regularity and punctuality is very much essential to maintain discipline and their academic standard in school. So parents, please see to the matter that your child regularly attend the school properly.
Children's bag should be packed according to the routine the night before the school. This is how a child can get rid of carrying a heavy bag. Please do check the diaries of your children. Because that is the only means through which we keep in touch with you.
Check all the copies those are sent home for your observation so that if your child is facing any problem you can come to us immediately. Parents are should attend the parent - teacher meetings all through the session which will help you to understand your child's ability.
Schooling is the best part of a child's life which collects sweet memories as well as building them up to a smart but soft dynamic character. Teachers always try to give our children two things 'wings and roots' -- wings for them to soar in the sky and roots to keep themselves tied up in the soil.
