‘Swapno’ magazine launched at IU
The first publicity of Swapno, a literary magazine was unveiled at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Saturday.
'Swapno Sahitya Parishad' a campus based organization unveiled the magazine in a function at the room no 103 of university faculty building. Bangla department chairman Prof Dr Goutom Kumer Das, Associate Prof Dr Manjur Rahman, Dr Baki Billah, Dr Tapon Kumar Roy, IU press club President Abdullah al Mamun, IU Journalists Association President Mustafa Zubayer Alam and among others were present at the programme.
G K Sadik, editor of Swapno literary magazine presided over the programme while executive editor Atikur Rahman Onny conducted it.
On the otherhand, the fresher's reception and farewell ceremony of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering department of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia was held on Saturday.
IU vice chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari addressed at the ceremony as the chief guest while pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha and among others were present as the special guests.
Prof Dr M Atikur Rahman, chairman of the department presided over the programme and Prof Dr M Mamun Al-Rashid was present as the convener of the ceremony.
Fresher's of the department were accorded with flowers and outgoing students with crests at the ceremony.
Besides, a motivational open seminar on "How We Can Be Happy and Successful in Life" was held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Saturday. Tarunno, a campus based voluntary association organized the seminar at the university's Birshrestha Hamidur Rahman auditiorium around 10:00 am.
IU proctor Prof Dr M Mahbubar Rahman, Tarunno Moderator Dr Abdul Gafur Gazi were present at the seminar as the special guests while Riyadh Kaiser, founder of 'Foundation of Life and Happiness' addressed here as the motivational speaker. More than thousand of audience took part at the seminar with Tarunno president M Mominul Islam in the chair.
