IU holds int'l conference on nutrition

A day-long international conference on "The Role of Nutrition in Health and development" was held at Birsrestha Hamidur Rahman central auditorium of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Saturday.
The Applied Nutrition and Food Technology (ANFT) department of the university organized the conference in association with Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) of the University Grant Commission (UGC).
IU vice chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari addressed here as chief guest while pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman and dean of Applied Science faculty Prof Dr M Shamsul Alam were present in the event as the special guests.
Professor of Infection Biology department of Tsukuba University in Japan, Dr Misturu Okuwakai, pro-vice chancellor of University of Science and Technology Chittagong, Prof Nurul Absar and Professor of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology department of Rajshahi University, Dr M Khaled Hossain addressed here as the keynote speakers.
Prof Dr Abdus Samad, convener of the international conference organizing committee, delivered the welcome speech with the departmental chairman Prof Dr M Rezaul Karim in the chair.
