Kamal Ahmed receives ‘Adwaita Mallabarman Award’

Prominent Tagore Singer Kamal Ahmed has received "Adwaita Mallabarman Award" from Maharaja Birbikram University of Agartala, Tripura at a Seminar in the University Campus on March 27. Maharaja Birbikram University, one of the leading public universities of Tripura honoured Kamal Ahmed for his contribution to promote Rabindra culture and for playing vital role in the development of radio in the country from the days of "Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra" till the present Modern Radio.
The High Commission of Bangladesh in India invited Kamal Ahmed to attend a programme arranged at its premises in India for observing Bangladesh's Independence and National Day. He reached there on March 26 and delivered his lecture on the great Liberation War. Kamal Ahmed also performed at the High Commission.
Then on March 27 Maharaja Birbikram University, Agartala, Tripura invited Kamal Ahmed as a guest speaker on the seminar titled "Adwaita Mallabarman and Harmony Thinking".  In the seminar, Kamal Ahmed delivered his lecture on the life and literary works of Adwaita Mallabarman and also on current issues.
Gautam Kumar Basu, Vice Canceller of the University handed over the Award. In his speech the vice chancellor said, it is a matter of great pride to honour a person of merit.
