5 get life term in Laxmipur two separate cases

Laxmipur: A district court on Monday convicted five people and sentenced them to life term imprisonment in two separate cases.

District and Sessions Judge Court Judge AKM Abul Kashem handed down the verdict.

The court also fined to each Tk 50,000.

Convict--Tutul Chandra Das, 30, sentenced for a rape case and four others--Jaynal Abedin, Josna Akhter, Rezia Begum and Md Alam sentenced for a murder case.

According to the prosecution, Tutul violated a 18-year-old teenager in Sadar upazila on April 14, 2013.

Later, the victim's father Sangker Das filed a case.

On the other hand, on August 25, 2015, victim Rabbi was strangulated to death by his wife and in-laws over extra-marital affair.
