Man to die for killing wife in Kushtia

A court in Kushtia on Monday convicted a man and sentenced him to death for killing his wife.
The condemned convict is identified as Shihabuddin Shishir, 30. He has been absconding after securing bail.
After examining records and witnesses, Kushtia's Chief Judicial Magistrate Reza M Alamgir Hasan handed down the verdict.
According to the prosecution, Shishir strangled his wife Snigdha Akter Rimi, a student of Kushtia Government College, at Naoda Bahalbaria in Mirpur upazila of Kushtia.
After a month of the murder, Shishir was arrested Tangail. He then confessed before a judge.
But, after securing bail, Shishir went into hiding, court sources said.
