Inspiring Women Award 2017
WIL recognizes bright female professionals
Women in Leadership (WIL), along with its implementation partner Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF), organized Inspiring Women Award 2017, Powered by ACI PURE Spices to mark the International Women's Day 2017 at hotel Le Méridien Dhaka on March 8.
Syed Alamgir, Managing Director, ACI Salt Ltd and Executive Director, ACI Ltd, gave the welcome speech inviting all the guests to the gala. Nazia Andaleeb Preema, Director, Bangladesh Brand Forum & President, WIL congratulated the winners in advanced and also praised all the nominations for their hard work that their respective organization has already been recognized as an inspiring leader. A special speech was given by Ashwani Nayar, General Manager, Le Méridien Dhaka.
This year, call for nomination of Inspiring Women Award included 12 categories. More than 150 nominations under different professional categories from 58 organizations and more than 50 nominations under IPDC Leaders of Tomorrow category from 18 universities were received. Three jury panel consisting of total 20 jurors evaluated the nominations based on set criteria of respective categories.
The awards were given in two categories: winners and honorable mention. A total of 14 women professionals, 10 student leaders, two organizations and one initiative were awarded.
In the category of Aspiring Woman Leader---Winner was Farhana Chowdhury, Area Manager, British American Tobacco Bangladesh and Honorable Mention was Afifa Abbas, Information Security and Governance Lead Engineer of Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd.
In the category of RFL Plastics Progressing Woman Leader --- Winner was Sababa Islam, Area Sales Manager, Modern Trade and Shopping Complex of Unilever Bangladesh Limited and Honorable Mention was
Adrita Datta, Marketing HR Business Partner of British American Tobacco Bangladesh.
In the category of Le Méridien Dhaka Inspiring Woman Leader ---Winner was Sanjana Farid, Regional Head (SEA and ASPAC) of Instant Cash FZE (A subsidiary of Emirates Post) and Honorable Mention
Was Sharmin Rahman, Group Creative Director of Asiatic Marketing Communications Limited.
In the category of Le Méridien Dhaka Most Female Friendly Organization ---Winner was Unilever Bangladesh Limited and Honorable Mention Paxar Bangladesh Ltd.
In the category of ACI PURE Spices Most Dynamic Woman of the Year --- Winner was Farzana Chowdhury ACII (UK), Chartered Insurer
Managing Director & CEO Green Delta Insurance.
In the category of IPDC Leaders of Tomorrow --- Winner was Abanti Shreya Saha, IBA, University of Dhaka.
In the category of IPDC Inspiring Female Entrepreneur --- Winner was Kohinoor Yeasmin, Chief Executive Officer of Tarango.
In the category of IPDC Inspiring Female Startup --- Winner was AchiaKhaledaNila, Founder of Women in Digital.
In the category of Colours FM Power Woman of the Year ---Winner was Ifreet Zahin Kunjo, Founder & Chairman of HelpAid Foundation, Justice for Women Bangladesh (JFWBD). In the category of ACI PURE Spices Inspiring Woman in Culinary Art ---Winner was Alpana Habib, Culinary Artist.
In the category of Inspiring Woman in Technology --- Winner was Samira Zuberi Himika, Founder & Managing Director of Team Engine.
In the category of RFL Plastics Inspiring Woman in Defense --- Winner was Flight Lieutenant Nazia Afrin, Squadron Pilot of Bangladesh Air Force.
In the category of Inspiring Female in Promoting Art --- Winner was Tayeba Begum Lipi, Visual Artist and Co-founder, Britto Arts Trust.
In the category of Inspiring Female Friendly Initiative --- Winner was BraveMen Campaign.
