JU BCL infighting injures one

An activist of Jahangirnagar University (JU) unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) received severe injuries when two groups of the platform- Maulana Bhashani Hall and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall- clashed over a trifling matter on Tuesday night.
The injured was identified as Md Jahir, a Master student of Public Health and Informatics Department, and Maulana Bhashani Hall chapter BCL activist.
According to the eyewitnesses, junior BCL men of Bhashani Hall and Bangabandhu Hall locked in a quarrel over taking seats during a concert at Muktamancha on Tuesday night that sooner triggered a clash beside the stage.
At one stage, Bangabandhu Hall unit BCL activists attacked on the opponents with local weapons leaving Jahir severely injured.
Later, journalists rescued him and rushed to the JU medical centre.
He was undergoing treatment at Enam Medical College Hospital while filing this report.
When contacted, JU unit BCL President said the attackers must be brought to punishment.  
JU Proctor Prof Tapan Kumar Saha said the university authorities would take necessary steps after investigating into the
incident.
