30,000m banned net seized

NOAKHALI, Jan 11: Noakhali Fisheries Department, in a joint drive with Coast Guard Bangladesh, recovered 30,000 metres of banned current net from Tomoruddin ghat on Tuesday.
At that time, Deputy Director of the Chittagong Fisheries Department Dr. Kazi Iqbal Azam, Noakhali Fisheries Officer Md. Mizanur Rahman, and Hatiya Upazila Fisheries Officer Pizush Pravakar were also present.  
District Fisheries Officer Md. Mizanur Rahman said, nobody was arrested during the drive while the seized nets were burnt and destroyed.
